Erlinda Casady - Artists' Statement

"No one takes up Art, art takes you up" and it took me up a long time ago.

With desire, vision and a passion for color, I was motivated at a very early age. Drawing came easy for me; I knew what I wanted to be which was to produce strong beautiful art.

Born and raised in Los Angeles gave me the advantage and opportunity to compete. I was able to attend the best of art schools, honored with official recognition, awards, and a sensibility and perspective to continue a career in art. With strong convictions, imagination, and a great gift, I entered into a world in which a woman artist must struggle before winning acceptance. I did, becoming the first woman Scenic Artist in 1975 at Universal Studios.

The Entertainment Industry is a stressful business that requires a high degree of collaboration under pressure and dealing with time constraints. I strive to maintain a reputation of always working with a productive attitude and consistently performing in a professional manner. A strong work ethic combined with the skills of an artist and draftsman of the human form enables me to rise to the challenge of the vast scale of backdrops, murals and sculpture that the studios demand.

I hope always to maintain a positive attitude and imagination that will be everlasting.
